How... how? How the FREAK do I review this? Anyhow, this is Deadman Wonderland.

This 12-episode WTF-fest is based on a manga by Jinsei Kataoka and Kazuma Kondou. (Still running.)

Anyhow, 14-year-old Ganta Igarashi has been accused of murdering his entire class, even though it was someone else. Typical day of high school, right? After that ordeal, he is sent to the prison, and meets the Warden. There, she almost kills Ganta's soon-to-be friend Yo. Anyhow, he meets an albino girl named Shiro and finds out he's a bloodbender (Deadman).

From my summary, you'll be turned off. But, it is really amazing (in a cynical, bloody, dead kind of way).

Video - The quality is freaking amazing. The animation is very crisp and HD-like... wish it was on Blu-ray. My only complaint is that sometimes the scenes will go dark... which makes for some perverted mindtricks (like Ganta and Shiro talking while in bed).

Audio - SPOT ON. One of the few times I'll ever recommend the dub instead of subs. They're both very good, but the dubbed version is much better. The anime has one of the best soundtracks ever, too. Again, my complaint being... the original version has a whiny Ganta.

Lasting Appeal

Now this anime is short, but it is awesome. If you're a fan of the manga, you will be dissapointed that some characters don't appear in the anime. Also... the ending just... feels incomplete. But, this is based on opinion, for anyone, its hate it or love it. And I freaking love it.

Verdict: 9.1/10

Theme song
